I recently spoke with fitness model, coach, and yoga instructor Bobbi Parker Hall, who’s proving that midlife and beyond can be the most powerful time to begin again. At 67, she’s stronger, leaner, and more confident than she was in her 20s, and she’s using her platform to inspire other women to rewrite what aging looks like.
Bobbi, who lives in Portland, Oregon, is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and a 500-hour yoga teacher. She’s also the founder of Modern Bodies, a wellness program that helps women stay strong, active, and confident at every stage of life.
She’s modeled for brands that celebrate active aging and has become a sought-after speaker on topics like women’s health, mindset, and midlife reinvention. But her story didn’t start in the fitness spotlight.
“I dreamed of modeling when I was young…”
“When I was young, I actually dreamed of modeling,” Bobbi said. “But I never had the confidence or the body I felt I needed to pursue it. Ironically, I didn’t achieve the body I always wanted until my mid-50s.”
She described years of being what she calls a cardio queen, teaching classes and staying active, but not seeing the results she hoped for. “It wasn’t until I switched to heavier progressive strength training and dialed in my nutrition that everything finally changed. At 54 I trained for my first bikini competition, and that experience gave me the confidence, emotionally and physically, to step into a version of myself I had postponed for decades.”
“Strength gave me power. Yoga gave me presence.”
Bobbi explained that the transformation didn’t stop at muscle tone. It sparked something deeper—a calling to guide other women through similar change.
“I became certified as a personal trainer in my 50s after seeing how transformative strength training had been for my own body. I wanted to coach other women through that same awakening,” she said.
“Yoga came shortly after, also in my mid-50s, because I realized that just building a strong body wasn’t enough. I needed mobility, feminine grounding, stress recovery, breath, softness—all the pieces women tend to lose as they enter menopause. Strength gave me power, yoga gave me presence. Together, they became the foundation of how I now teach and live.”
Coaching women to “rebuild from the inside out”
Today, Bobbi’s main focus is coaching women 50 and up, particularly those navigating menopause or who feel stuck in their bodies.
“My primary work is online coaching for women 50+, especially those rebuilding strength after years of feeling disconnected from themselves,” she said. “I also do speaking, brand partnerships, and modeling, but coaching is the heart of my business because it allows me to walk beside women through real transformation—not just results on the surface, but rebuilding confidence, identity, posture, metabolism, and self-belief.”
Her approach blends science-based strength training with mindfulness, nutrition, and what she calls daily self-respect.
Celebrating 67 and rebranding aging
When asked how she marked her recent birthday, Bobbi said she celebrates each year with intention and joy. “For me, aging isn’t something I hide; I put it front and center as proof of what’s possible in your 60s and beyond. Some years I do a photoshoot or a fitness milestone. This year I leaned more into reflection, celebration of vitality, and gratitude—still training hard, still modeling bikinis at 67, still rewriting what aging looks like for women.”
She added, “I treat each year like a personal rebrand, another chance to expand what’s possible at this age.”
“Start simple and start with belief.”
For readers who might feel intimidated about getting fit later in life, Bobbi had this advice: “Start simple and start with belief. It’s not too late, and you’re not behind. Your body is not done responding, even in your 50s, 60s or 70s. The women who make the biggest changes are often the ones starting the latest.”
She emphasized that perfection isn’t required, just consistency. “Walk, lift light weights at first, build strength slowly, and eat enough protein. You don’t need to do everything at once. You just need to do the next right step. Confidence comes from momentum, not mastery.”
“Aging powerfully is not genetics.”
Before we wrapped up, Bobbi shared words that sum up her entire philosophy. “Aging powerfully is not genetics. It’s daily choices layered over years of self-respect,” she said. “Women are not past their prime. We are entering our real prime when we have wisdom, confidence, and agency over our own bodies.”
“I’m 67 and still building muscle, still learning, still expanding. The message I want women to hear is: you are allowed to begin again at any age.”
