I have said it before and I will say it again: I don’t believe in miracles when it comes to skin care.
At 20, almost anything you slather on will be good enough to moisturize your skin. At 50+ well, it’s a different story.
After a lifetime of caring for my skin, I can tell when something is just meh, or whether it really does benefit my complexion.
Sometimes it’s all about using a certain product over time, like with tretinoin (my go-to skincare treatment since I turned 43).
Other times it’s about a luxurious feeling, or the fact that fine lines are visually diminished even though they’re still there.
I get to test a number of brands since they send me samples and also because I venture to the beauty stores or to the dermatologist’s office, where I also find great stuff.
Here I’m sharing with you my latest finds for women over 50, although if you start using these earlier they certainly won’t do you any harm. Quite the contrary. But at 50+ serums are a must.

I discovered Tata Harper around 10 years ago. I fell in love with the aromatherapy of her products and the fact that they are cruelty-free and organic.

This is not so much a serum as an eye cream, since they discountinued the serum I was so in love with. But it’s still a potent eye brightener I’ve used and loved.

If you love Avon products, then Anew is for you! Affordable and yet effective in plumping up and revving up your skin.
If you feel like you need a pick-me-up without breaking the bank, this is a good one to try.

Estee lauder RENUTRIVe EYE SERUM
I thoroughly enjoyed testing this one, which provided a tightening feel and also prepped my skin perfectly for a flawless makeup application. A must try!
FRESH Crème Ancienne White Truffle Eye Serum
The entire line is absolutely luscious and is best used in conjunction. But if you can only buy one, choose the eye serum!
It freshens and tightens and contains tons of antioxidants. It’s thicker in consistency and smooths on easily.

Used morning and night it provides a brightening effect. It’s great to use before your day cream and your regular makeup for a polished, more ‘awake’ look.
