Don’t you just love it when fashion meets sun protection? I chose this hat, called the Scrunchie, to review for Wallaroo, and I’m going to tell you all the reasons why I fell in love with it.
It’s stylish and convenient
Aside from looking super stylish, it has many other advantages.
I picked the black with white dots because I own a lot of black swimwear and I knew it would also look good paired with street clothes.
Add a pair of sunglasses and you’re ready to hit the beach, the pool, or any outdoor event in style.
It’s also super convenient: you can fold it, roll it, and pack in a suitcase or your tote bag. The rim is wire-edged, which helps hold its shape and also mold it to your style!
The brim can go up or down, or somewhere in the middle. A drawstring inside the hat will help it stay in place even in windy weather.

It’s also washable (hand-wash in cold water) and crushable. A really convenient and cool accessory to keep on hand for any warm destination travel or for the summer.
The hat that blocks most ultraviolet rays
I live in Florida, so this is something I wear year-round really.
I know the UPF 50+ fabric blocks 97.5% of ultraviolet rays, according to the Australian Radiation Protection Agency, and I still wear sunscreen, so it makes me feel I’m really taking care of my skin.
It’s available in 12 colors, to include turquoise and coral to name a couple of really cool ones. My youngest daughter has the same hat for kids, in fuchsia.
She’s worn it on numerous trips to the beach and I even have a photo of her wearing the Scrunchie on our latest trip to Haiti.
I can tell you it’s prevented sunburns and done a great job of protecting her skin!
