Our Christmas trip in the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander GT S-AWC

Every Christmas, my sister Laura comes to visit from San Francisco, and we all drive down to Miami from Sarasota to spend Nochebuena and Navidad with my husband´s family.

The cars we own only accommodate five people, so we always welcome the opportunity to review a vehicle that seats all six of us – three teens and three adults!

A comfortable car for the six of us

The 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander GT S-AWC was quite the ride for us this Christmas. The six of us piled into the car with a ton of luggage and presents for the family.

Yes, it was cramped for everyone except the driver. But check out everything we managed to pack in the car!

The car was comfortable and didn’t feel huge, like we were driving a truck.

And while at times it felt slightly underpowered, that was not the case if we floored the gas pedal.

Then it really kicked in nicely. My husband said it was good to know he had it if he needed it.

Some of our favorite things: the entertainment system, which among other things, was easy to navigate. We all loved the stereo, which had great bass.

Our son, who loves hip-hop really appreciated that! He sat in the very back on the way down to Miami (you can see him peeking out in the photo), and absolutely enjoyed it.

An overall well-performing vehicle

The sunroof was a plus and the position of the displays were all perfect. The driver instantly felt in control.

We could see and touch any button quickly and easily. This made driving from Sarasota to Miami and back more relaxing than usual.

The blind spot warning, warning lane change assist, rear cross traffic alert and multi-view camera system with birds eye view was great when the car was so loaded it was almost impossible to see what was behind!

It also helped park in tight spots in Calle Ocho in Miami!

The Outlander did well on gas. And really, it was an overall well-performing vehicle. With six people, luggage and presents, it felt a bit crowded, but it’s not a minivan.

It would be perfect for a family of five. We felt we were riding high, but not too high to make it feel unstable.

The driving was smooth and the brakes were great.

On the way back, everyone switched seats and the youngest chose the very back, so that she could be by herself.

As you can see, the older ones were pooped after so much celebrating with the family in Miami!

We truly hope you enjoyed your holidays as much as we did!
