The one thing that hasn´t changed since these throwback photos

I´ve always enjoyed preparing for the Holiday season. Looking back at family photos of previous Holidays brings back so many memories.

Every year I try to take a Christmas photo of all of us, but it´s hardly ever worked out.

Preparing for the Holiday season through the years

When the kids were younger, even if they’re smiling in this one picture of them together, our photo sessions were always riddled with scowls and tantrums.

One year, I gave up. I ended up taking individual photos of the kids and then made a collage for our holiday greeting card.

Two years ago, I somehow managed to get all of us to wear Santa hats for our family photo. The only one we couldn´t get in the picture was the dog!

Last year, the kids were well into their teens and I gave myself a break from struggling to have a happy-looking family pic. So I just took one photo of myself for my Viva Fifty! readers.

I have no idea what our holiday photo-shoot will be like this year, but I do know one thing! I will have fun doing it.

Whether I manage to capture the whole family in one shot for our holiday card or if it ends up being just the dog, I am determined to make the best of it.

After all, I already know that what seemed like a struggle a few years ago is now the source of laughter.

Even the kids get a kick out of looking at these throwback pictures and remembering how upset they got at each other during the shoots.

The perfect opportunity to treat ourselves

Something that has not changed, although time keeps passing, is that I continue to take care of myself inside and out.

I always do my best to love myself and my skin and be the best version of myself.

Now that the holidays are coming up, I find it´s once again the perfect opportunity for me, and for every woman over 50, to treat herself! Not that I don´t do this year-round. Just ask my husband!

The WAY I treat my skin has evolved over the years, and L’Oréal Age Perfect Rosy Tone helps me have a healthy blush, while providing a velvety feel.

I love that it´s lightweight (I live in Florida, where humidity is an issue year-round) and that it makes me look and feel rejuvenated.

At 54, I´m very aware that my skin needs some serious pampering.

So, next year when I look back at this year´s photos I will know where my glow came from, no matter what was going on behind the scenes!
