What women really think of balding men

Balding men are perhaps more concerned about their hair or lack thereof than the women who love them. Find out what women really think about a bald head.

When you think about a man who is balding, chances are the image of a nerdy guy with a combover and glasses, pleated pants pulled too high and a short sleeve button-up tucked in tightly is probably what initially crosses your mind.

And yes, those men still exist, but it’s a totally exaggerated stereotype.

Balding is natural and many men start losing their hair as early as their late twenties. Heck, there are even lots of women who experience thinning and hair loss as they get older.

So is there really still a stigma when it comes to the attractiveness of a man whose mane has seen more lustrous days?

Well, I know what I think, but I decided to take a little informal poll to get a better idea of what women really think of balding men.

Hair is good

Women are always going to love the distinguished look of a man with a head full of healthy hair.

That thick swath of hair has long been a symbol of virility and we’re biologically conditioned to be attracted to it.

But that doesn’t mean that anything less is a turn off.

Bald heads are de rigeur these days. Lots of younger men buzz their heads all the way down by choice–it looks tough, it makes them feel manly and rugged, it’s just in.

Just look at celebs like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Vin Diesel, Pitbull, Jason Statham and Bruce Willis–men want to be them and women want to be with them.

There’s no denying the hotness.

Here’s the key

Letting go of that hair gracefully makes all the difference in the world.

It’s pretty much the consensus that women are far more attracted to a man whose confidence is not contingent on how much hair is on his head, a man who can accept what is no longer and live securely in the now.

In other words: just let it go.

If the hair is thinning to the point of trying to hide bald spots, it’s time to get rid of it. Either take it all off or buzz it down a la Matt Lauer.

The worst thing is

Whatever the state of a man’s follicles, the absolute worst way to address it according to women is THE TOUPEE.

Leave it, ditch it, don’t even think about it!

I’m sure there are some high-quality rugs out there, but even those have to come off at some point.

We’d rather see a man the way he truly is right from the start than be utterly shocked later on down the line, or God forbid during an intimate moment.

It turns out, my line of thinking was completely on par, with the dozen or so other women that I polled on the topic.

Bald is totally sexy when worn with confidence!

The important thing for men to realize is that we value them for their experiences, values and knowledge over all else.

And yeah, a man who knows how to treat a woman well is a winner whether bald, thinning, combed over, toupeed or anything else.
